Instructions to generate the script for Airtable Automations

Fill in the Generate Script form below, and click "Submit".
Create an automation on Airtable which triggers when a record is created.
Add a "Run script" action.
Click "Edit code".
Add an input variable called "recordId".
Paste the generated script into the Code editor.
Click "Test". If there are errors, double check that you have created the input variable correctly and provided the correct details in the form below!

Generate script

You can refer to our example "Event Packages"and Events" tables!

Package Table Name *
The name of your table that lists all event packages. Example: 'Workshop Series'.

Package Name Field *
The field in your Package Table that contains the names of each event package. Example: 'Workshop Title'.

Package Start Date Field *
The field in the Package Table that indicates the start date of the event package. Example: 'Workshop Start Date'.

Package End Date Field
The field in the Package Table that denotes the end date of the event package. Example: 'Workshop End Date'.

Event Creation Type

Event Scheduling Method *
Choose the method for scheduling events: 'By End Date' for a specific end date, or 'By Number of Events' for a set number of occurrences.

Event Frequency Number *
Specify the frequency of events. Enter a number to indicate how often events occur. Example: '2' for every 2 days/weeks.

Frequency Time Unit
Select the unit for measuring event frequency, such as 'days', 'weeks', etc. This sets the interval between events.

Record creation

Event Record Table Name *
Enter the name of the table where individual event records will be created. Example: 'Scheduled Events'.

Event Record Name Field *
Specify the field in the Event Record Table that will hold the names of individual events. Example: 'Session Name'.

Event Record Date Field *
The field in the Event Record Table where the dates of each event will be recorded. Example: 'Session Date'.

Package-Event Link Field *
The field that links individual events to their corresponding event package in the Package Table. Example: 'Related Workshop'.
